There could be no better word than "success" to define the Hataw Sayaw Competition held last
October 6, 2023. As a vibrant celebration of our students' dancing talents, this year's event
pulsated with energy and offered invaluable lessons for future iterations. However, there are still
some areas that can be improved. By acknowledging and addressing areas for improvement, we
can ensure that the Hataw Sayaw and the entire STI Talent Search will continue to ascend to new
heights, fostering both individual growth and school pride.Although visually appealing, the stage used for Hataw Sayaw presented challenges for larger
groups. Despite the limited space due to the background visuals, and how their dynamic movements that were supposed to cater to their dance style were restricted, the contestants still showed an impressive level of performance. Moving forward, considering a more open stage design and/or using flexible backdrops could allow performers to unleash their full potential—truly releasing the untapped beat. When it comes to dance performances, timing is everything. While the event buzzed with
excitement, the occasional delay in music or sound issues could have disrupted the flow for some
teams. Investing in reliable equipment and ensuring clear communication between performers and event managers can guarantee a smooth, synchronized, and an even better experience for both the performers and audiences. These experiences, while presenting challenges, also offer valuable opportunities for growth. By analyzing the feedback from both performers and audience, the organizers can refine the format
and structure of future Hataw Sayaw competitions. Feedbacks and articles like this ensures that
the event continuously evolves, reflecting the needs and aspirations of our talented student body.Nevertheless, the event ended as a success as the performers and the event managers did
everything they could to overcome such challenges. And within those sets of performers, team
2BA emerged as the champion for Hataw Sayaw. The group consists of six (6) members,
including Mike Bombeo, Syril Anne Simbulan, Ann Gloreign Caloloy, Sean Andrei Montanes,
Lean Noel Panoy, and Ken Harvey Fernandez. Despite the issues that they have encountered
during their performances, they were still able to execute their performance properly. It is important for the STIers to remember that the STI Talent Search is more than just a
competition; it's a platform for self-expression, collaboration, and community spirit. Let's
remember the joy and enthusiasm that filled the air during Hataw Sayaw. By working together,
we can ensure that this event will continue to be a pulsating celebration of talent.
